I have an XL710 VSI that is running in a VF. Is it possible to configure the VF or accompanying host PF in such a way that the VF driver receives all frames received by the NIC?

Hi clivep,
Thanks for your post.
Can you please provide more information on your virtual machine? Example: Host OS, no. of guest OS.
Sincerely,

Host OS:Linux localhost.localdomain 4.2.8-200.fc22.x86_64
Guest OS: Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.32-431.56.1.el6.f5.x86_64
Only 1 guest. The VF Driver is running in a proprietary app in the guest.

Hi clivep,
Thanks for the information. In a VM environment, the VF will receive the packets for its VM only. However, I'll further check on this.
Sincerely,
Sandy

Let me explain better. My problem is that AFAIK the maximum number of VLAN filters a VF driver can set is 8. Unfortunately our app requires lots more than that, so I'm wondering if there is a way to cause the app running the VF to receive all traffic directed to its MAC ie non-tagged and tagged traffic?
