Hello,
I'm working on the Intel 82579LM linked to a QM77 PCH (7/C210 Series Chipset).
When activating the Tx functionalities, using the TCLT register ( p193 of http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/embedded/products/networking/82579-gbe-phy-datasheet-vol-2-1.html Intel® 82579 GbE PHY: Datasheet, Vol. 2.1 )
I noticed that if the "Reserved" "Read only" bit 28 was not specifically set to value '0b1', the Tx functionalities do not work.
Although I agree it is not "best-practice" to set "Reserved" bits, is this behavior normal ?
Many thanks !

Hi Tweety,
Just to double check if you are referring to page 186 or 193 on the datasheet as the Reserved bit appeared on 186. As your inquiry involvoed design, you can try check with our embedded communities https://embedded.communities.intel.com/community/en
Thanks,

Thanks for the update.
Yes, you are right, it's on page 186. I just got fooled by the PDF editor which counts all pages from the start (giving this page n°193).
