Intel® 82579V on Asus P8Z77-V DELUXE

I have 2 LAN controllers on my MBO:

Intel® 82579V, 1 x Gigabit LAN Controller

Realtek® 8111F, 1 x Gigabit LAN Controller

Realtek seems to be performing better when it comes to latency and ping while gaming and pinging servers. Intel has a lot of additional settings that I'm not familiar with, so I was wondering what would be the best way to set the Intel 82579V so it would perform better while gaming?
