Dear intel team, I am having constant ID27 disconnects to the point that I cannot use my computer anymore. Even just browsing the web it constantly flashes that its disconnected and reconnecting again randomly. This is my gaming PC and whenever I try playing something online, I cannot enjoy it because of the CONSTANT disconnects.
Please see the attachments.
This is completely unusable.
I tried installing the latest driver by completely removing previous driver (now using 2.1.4.3), tried all sort of combinations under the Advanced properties tab, forcing 2.5G full duplex ( I have a 2.5GB fiber line), disabling EEE and other options there, disabled my routers WIFI, kept only the line connected. Even writing this message I saw it disconnect 2 times.
NOTHING worked so far. I still get constant interruptions and I see a lot of people are still having issues with this I226-V controller.
What gives? How can I fix this? I cannot use my PC online properly and its driving me crazy.

Can I get some help here please?
I have tried all available drivers that I found, none worked, including v2.1.4.2 that is the latest officially supported driver on the motherboards web page.
This is an issue plaguing the I225/226-v controllers and nothing to do with motherboard manufacturers. Can we get some accountability and at least own up to the issue? I hate the fact that I'm forced to buy a separate 2.5GB card just to use a feature that should work properly out of the box on my current controller.

Hello Victor_B,
Greetings!
We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with I226-V controller.
Kindly provide us the below details so that we can check this for you.
1) Kindly provide us the server/system details
2) Is this ethernet controller a built-in controller or is it manually added later?
3) The OS you are using.
Thank you for using Intel products and services.
Best Regards,
Sachin KS

I've seen replies on other posts that people should contact the motherboard manufacturer but how can they assist? This is an Intel controller issue, OEMs just slap the controller on the mobo and thats it. You are well aware of the issues the I225/226-v are having and it has nothing to do with the motherboard manufacturers.
Is there any firmware version that can be updated on the I226-v? Many people are having this issue and its significantly limiting my ability to use my internet connection. As soon as I connect using 2.5GB I get constant ID27 disconnects, despite trying several driver versions by performing a clean install.

Hello Victor_B,
Thank you for the reply and thank you for providing the details.
We have checked this and it seems like there were few resolutions implemented for this issue in the NVM firmware update. Please find the details bellow :
Its recommended for all affected users to work with motherboard vendors to update NVM version to 2.22 (and beyond) and Windows 11 driver to 2.1.3.15 (and beyond) or Windows 10 driver to 1.1.4.42 (and beyond).
Kindly try updating these NVM firmware and windows drivers and see if that resolves the issue.
Regards,
Sachin KS

Hi, I downloaded the latest Release 29.1.1.1 from Intel's website and went into the NVMU update package folder, 700 series and installed the windows package from there, if thats what I needed to install. I cant say that this fixed the issue, I'm still testing it now. The issue is worse when I boot up my PC, for the first few hours so I'll be testing it the next couple of days. Please don't close this topic yet.

Hi Victor_B,
Thank you for your response.
Upon reviewing it, we see that you have installed the NVM package for the 700 series. The update is meant for Intel's 700 series Ethernet adapters, not for the Intel I226-V Ethernet adapter you are using.
We understand that getting the right driver for your Intel card can be confusing. Therefore, we kindly request you to contact your OEM/Manufacturer to share an NVM update greater than version 2.22.
Additionally, please update the Windows 11 driver to version 2.1.3.15 (or later).
We also wanted to let you know that since the Ethernet card is embedded on the board, there may be custom BIOS and drivers from the OEM/Manufacturer. Hence, we are unable to share a direct link to the drivers.
Thank you in advance for your understanding. We look forward to your response.
Best regards,
Simon

Hi. The OEM only has the website available drivers for the I226-v controller which are the 2.1.4.3 version, which resolves nothing.
As I'm sure you are well aware, this is not an OEM issue, but a I226-v hardware fault which Intel fails to acknowledge, which is highly disappointing. I cannot continue using a product I paid for because the excuse is to contact the mobo OEM which can't do anything about it. I am aware that fixes were attempted with version 1 2 3 of the I225 controller and then moving to the I226-v but its still plagued by the constant disconnects.
I had to buy a separate 2.5G network card with a Realtek RTL8125 which performs flawlessly with not a single drop so far.

Hi Victor_B,
Thank you for your response. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Could you please confirm if the issue persists after updating the NVM to a version greater than 2.22? If you are unable to find the NVM update on the OEM website, we kindly request you to contact OEM support for the latest NVM version.
As mentioned before, since the Ethernet card is embedded on the board, there may be custom BIOS and drivers from the OEM/Manufacturer. Hence, we are unable to share a direct link to the drivers.
Thank you for your understanding.
Regards,
Simon
