Hi,
I am one of the "lucky" ones to have bought an Asus ROG STRIX Z790-A GAMING WIFI D4 Mainboard with the intel controller.
Random disconnects is the name of the game, and I know that there are workarounds - but they are not working for me so i would like to start somewhere in order to bring this to order.
I currently have a driver version 2.1.4.2 from 3.10.23 from intel, not Asus.
Energy efficient Ethernet is off, speed and duplex was set to 2.5G - was working 2 months, and then couple of days ago problems started again. Now it is on Auto negotiation.
This is the driver site from the Asus:
https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z790-a-gaming-wifi-d4-model/helpdesk_download/
What should I do next? This is really nerve wrecking.
Thank you!

Hi Master_Kidfisto,
Thank you for posting on Intel community.
For the issue reported, in order to ensure optimal performance, we recommend to work with motherboard vendors to update NVM version to 2.22 and Windows 11 driver to 2.1.3.15 or Windows 10 driver to 1.1.4.42.
These updates have undergone extensive testing and have demonstrated stability.
After applying these updates, it is safe to manually enable "Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE)" mode in the Windows driver.

Hi Master_Kidfisto,
Thank you for posting on Intel Community.
Please be informed since OEM design their product using Intel component, OEM driver might be optimized/customized for their product which means there are some differences between OEM driver and Intel Generic driver however both driver still can work.
We request to please contact the OEM for further help with the driver.

Hi Megha,
just as a side note, since you wrote the same info to my topic - I have contacted Asus Germany and they dont have a clue that this is available. This is the answer from L1 tech:
Guten Tag,
thank you for contacting us with your request.
We're sorry to hear that there's a problem with your ROG STRIX Z790-A GAMING WIFI D4 motherboard.
We are happy to support you in this.
To update Intel Ethernet Controller drivers, you could use the Intel Driver Utility:
>> Intel® Driver & Support Assistant
Our community has put together a few tips on the Ethernet controller drivers:
>> [DRIVERS] Intel Ethernet/WiFi/Bluetooth - Republic of Gamers Forum - 878985 (asus.com)
Could you send us a few error reports from Windows Event Viewer at internet disconnections? These could then be checked by our Level 2 experts.
We are confident to work out a solution.
So they did not offer an updated driver on their website, nor when asked.

Hi Master_Kidfisto,
Thank you for posting on Intel Community.
Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in response.
We have reviewed the issue further with our internal team and please note you will need to get the NVM & driver update from the OEM.
The NVM (firmware) can only be obtained from the respective OEM as they will have certain customization that works with their product and hence we are unable to provide this from our end.
Hence we request to please contact OEM for further help.
Regards,
Megha K
