Hi, I have a new Mother Gigabyte H470 Aorus Pro AX with the Intel NIC i225 running a linux ubuntu server 20.04 i just installed. When I connect the the cable to a 10/100/1000Mbps Switch most of the time de link is dead, and sometimes reboot after reboot the NICs is working but 1000Mbps (1Gb/s) instead of 2.5Gb/s, and the if i power off or reboot the link is again dead.
I tried to upgrade de firmware following the manual but i failed in the process.
I ran nvmupdate64e por linux which I found in the intel 700Series package, placed the firmware FXVL_15F3_V_2MB_1.45.bin in the same folder and added at the end of nvmupdate.cfg:
BEGIN DEVICE
DEVICENAME: NNT
VENDOR: 8086
DEVICE: 15F3
SUBVENDOR: 1458
SUBDEVICE: E000
NVM IMAGE: FXVL_15F3_V_2MB_1.45.bin
IMAGE DOWNGRADE: TRUE
END DEVICE
During the interactive proccess read the legend "update available" i225-V NIC, I backup backup the nvm image and then when the upgrading fails.
Is there any missing variable/value in my config file? Did I miss something else?
This is some useful output from ubuntu server:
#lspci -knn

Hi Benja86,
Thank you for posting in our Intel® Ethernet Communities Page.
Kindly provide us the results of this command: ethtool -i ethx where ethx is the Ethernet port.
May we also know where have you downloaded the file, FXVL_15F3_V_2MB_1.45.bin? Have you downloaded it from the Gigabyte website? To confirm, the firmware download for the board which is on the gigabyte website, is not compatible with Linux, so that is why you are asking if we have tool for Linux, are we correct?
We look forward to hearing from you. If we do not get your reply, we will follow up after 3 business days.
Best Regards,
Alfred S
