I have 4 Hyper-V Hosts Running 2008 R2 Cluster using CSV.
Each server has 4 dedicated ports for Hyper-V VM traffic - Intel Quad port ET.
These ports are plugged into 2 different HP Procurve 2910Al switches. Basically, they 2 in each switch.
From my research the recommended setup would call for setting up a LACP Trunk across the 2 switches contaning all 4 ports, however since the HP 2910AL does not allow Trunking across multiple switches this is not possible.
What would the next best option be for performance and redundancy? I am currently testing Virtual Machine Load Balancing (VMLB) however I am curious if this is the optimal choice for this setup?
I also have another team on each server that is dedicated to Main-Public Team traffic. What would be the best teaming configuration with this team? This team has 2 ports on each server and each port is plugged into a different HP 2910AL so once again I am not able to use trunking across the 2 switches. With this team I am currently testing Adaptive Load Balancing (ALB) however also curious if this is the optimal choice?
Any guidance would be appreciated.
