Hi all,
I am trying to setup a demo for HSR and/or PRP and have a couple of Intel X550-T2 NICs available. But it looks like the support for the same is disabled by the driver:
sh-5.1# ethtool -k eth0 | grep hsr
hsr-tag-ins-offload: off [fixed]
hsr-tag-rm-offload: off [fixed]
hsr-fwd-offload: off [fixed]
hsr-dup-offload: off [fixed]
sh-5.1# ethtool -k eth0 | grep prp
sh-5.1#
Is there another method to check whether X550-T2 support HSR or PRP? I tried going through the product documentation but couldn't find anything. Some help on confirming this would be highly appreciated.

Hi Sazirah,
Thanks for checking and the confirmation. Is there any other PCIe NIC that supports HSR/PRP?

Hi AyaanAnwar,
Greetings!
Kindly provide the following details for further analysis:
- Confirmation on how the HSR and PRP setup is implemented.
- List of devices involved in the setup.
- Details on how this was implemented prior to using the X550-T2.
- Confirmation on whether HSR and PRP were successfully implemented on any other adapters.
Thank you for your understanding.

Hi Sreelakshmi,
HSR and PRP are Ethernet standards for redundancy. OEMs usually advertise whether a particular HW supports them or not. An example I could find online is https://www.flexibilis.com/products/flexibilis-redundant-card/.
Since it was mentioned that X550-T2 doesn't support HSR and PRP, my query was whether Intel offers any other PCIe NIC that supports the same?

Ayaan

Hello AyaanAnwar,
Greeting from Intel!
Thank you for your patience. Regarding your query, As per the update from the internal team we regret to inform you that all Intel Ethernet adapter models are not similar to the FRC models you are referring to, which support HRP/PRP.
Best regards,
