Test Setup #1: Dell R740 Server with Intel X710 fiber card<--Fiber cable--> COTS Media Converter 1 <--RJ45--> COTS Media Converter 2 <--Fiber cable--> Marvell eval board -----> That worked and linked.
Test Setup #2: Dell R740 with Intel X710 fiber card <--Fiber cable--> Marvell eval board -----> That not worked and not linked.
Our goal is making test setup #2 able to work and link. We believe that if we want test setup #2 work, we have to disable the auto-negotiation. However, we can't disable the auto negotiation in NIC configuration. Which means X710 network card didn't disable auto-negotiation when choosing a specific speed and duplex setting.
we are wondering how can we disable the auto-negotiation.
Dell R740 Server: Windows Server 2012 R2
Intel X710 card driver: 1.16.202.0

Hi JJ99.
Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.
For us to check your query, please provide the following information.
- Operating System used
- Driver version of Intel(R) Ethernet Converged Network Adapter X710-BM2?
From the screenshot attached, I can see that you are trying to change auto nego from OEM page. Can you confirm if you are able to do perform the change using the Device Manager or from the OS to configure the Auto Nego?
Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks,
Faez_Intel
