Hello Intel Support Team,
I’m experiencing persistent instability with my Intel(R) Ethernet Controller X540-AT2 (PCIe 10Gbps adapter) on a Windows PC. The issue occurs when connected via Ethernet to a Synology NAS and manifests as follows:
Symptoms:
The connection drops randomly (after minutes to hours).
Windows Device Manager shows the adapter as disabled with “Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems”.
Workarounds like re-enabling the adapter or rebooting the NAS temporarily restore connectivity.
- This has been a continued issue for the last year since I started using it.
System Details:
OS: Windows 11
Motherboard: Gigabyte X570S AORUS MASTER
NAS: Synology Disk Station DS1621+
Request:
Guidance on resolving Code 43 errors and unstable connections.
Are there known firmware updates or compatibility fixes for the X540-AT2? I've tried to install newest driver, but it doesn't detect Intel devices.
Could this indicate a hardware fault, or are there specific diagnostics I should run?
Please let me know what logs, traces, or additional details would help investigate this issue.
Thank you for your assistance,
Emil
