I have a Gateway M285 Tablet running Windows XP. The Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor states that the Intel PrO/1000 PL Network Connection adapter will need an updated driver from the manufacturer. Is such a driver available? I will use only Wireless to connect to the Internet. Can the Windows 7 driver for 3945ABG be used on its own for this adapter? (Yes, I know I'm a decade late, but, hey, the computer is working just fine except for the out-of-date browser [IE8].)
Thanks for your interest in this matter.

The PRO/1000 PL is based on the Integrated MAC + 82566 family of PHY. The latest driver is available on our Intel Download Center web site. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/18713/Intel-Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-7-?product=34459 Download Intel® Network Adapter Driver for Windows 7*
