NIC link is Down/Up

cd /home/z/Downloads/ixgbe-5.10.2/src
sudo make
sudo make install
sudo modprobe ixgbe
sudo update-initramfs -u
# sudo rmmod ixgbe
sudo tail -f /var/log/kern.log
Feb 24 07:02:40 DESKTOP-KO7G4JT kernel: [ 2748.506826] ixgbe 0000:07:00.0 enp7s0: NIC Link is Down
Feb 24 07:02:40 DESKTOP-KO7G4JT kernel: [ 2748.610780] ixgbe 0000:07:00.0 enp7s0: NIC Link is Up 10 Gbps, Flow Control: RX/TX
 
 
This message logs loop every 5 sec.
I got similar log on my router.
 
I try windows machine on my router
and it work fine without this loop

  1. What is the model of your Ethernet card?
  2. What is your OS?
  3. Are you using onboard network card or PCIe card?
  4. What is the brand and model of your board or system?
  5. Where can you see this log and how often can you get this error?

  2. What is your OS?
    1. # From debian:stable
  3. Are you using onboard network card or PCIe card?

  4. What is the brand and model of your board or system?
  5. Where can you see this log and how often can you get this error?
    1. sudo tail -f /var/log/kern.log

 

I try windows machine on my router,

after more investigation go similar error.

I am sorry to hear that, I am still gathering more details for us to investigate the issue. And we all know that there are a lot of possible causes for this problem. And thank you if you want to try a different system or a Windows system to check the connection.

 

Can you also generate the SSU for your system and send it me via direct message for us to further check your system?

I am still trying to gather more details for us to investigate the issue. However, you may try the following steps that may help you with the problem.


  1. Try to Set pcie_aspm=off in kernel parameters
