Hello,

[ 3.723557] igb: probe of 0000:02:00.0 failed with error -5

and this is entire dmesg regarding to the network connection

root@debian:~# dmesg | grep igb

[ 3.658621] igb 0000:02:00.0: The NVM Checksum Is Not Valid
[ 3.723557] igb: probe of 0000:02:00.0 failed with error -5
[ 44.203328] igb 0000:01:00.0 eth0: igb: eth0 NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full Duplex, Flow Control: RX/TX

I would also like to point out that on Windows 10 the problem doesn't occur and both ports are working properly.

What can be done in this case to make work correctly of the both ports on Linux?

Hi Krzysztof1,

Thank you for posting in our Intel® Ethernet Communities Page.

We are sorry to hear about the issue that you are experiencing with your network adapter.

To better assist you, we need to get some logs from your system. It will tell us the different driver version and components installed on your system. Please download and run our Intel® System Support Utility from this page, https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-. After running it, you will be given an option to save the logs to a text file, please do so and attach the file on your reply.

We would also like to ask if the port was working fine before on the same setup.

We look forward to hearing from you. If we do not get your reply, we will follow up after 3 business days.

Best Regards,

Hello,

This situation repeats even on new motherboards with this network interface, this isn't a problem with one device.

In this case the both ports on network adapter working correctly on Windows, but on Linux not and port 1 isn't working.

Your's ssu script on Debian tell device not supported so it is creating a blank report, but when I open a ticket I add this reports when its running Windows and when is running Linux.

Edit.

I will also add the dmesg when both cables are connected and there is error:

igb: probe of 0000:02:00.0 failed with error -5

Also I add the compare the files from lspci from two motherboards when both ports works correctly for now and from motherboard when the works only one ports correctly
