I have an Intel PRO/1000 GT NIC that works fine, except that I can't access my BIOS setup when it is installed. Access is fine when I remove the NIC. Works this way in Vista and Win7. I think it is trying to make the computer boot from the LAN. The solution may be as simple as turnimg of fthe Intel Boot Agent. I already disabled LAN boot in BIOS. Any ideas?
HP m8200n, ECS MB (HP calles it "Nettle"), more info available if required.

I never heard of this happening before. Some servers give you the ability to run off the adapter option ROM in the BIOS, but I don't know if your BIOS will have a similar setting. I would go ahead with your idea to disable the Intel(R) Boot Agent on the adapter. See http://www.intel.com/support/network/sb/cs-008018.htm How do I turn the Boot Agent off or prevent it from running? for help.
