Problem with Intel PRO/1000 PT Quad Port LP Server Adapter on W2K8R2 Core

Background info:

Network adapter: Intel PRO/1000 PT Quad Port LP Server Adapter

Server: IBM x3650 M3, 2 CPUs, 40 GB RAM

NOS: Windows 2008 R2 Datacenter Core installation with Failover Cluster & Hyper-V features added.

Problem:

I cannot find out how to enable VMQ on this adapter.

I've done so in the past with an ET Quad Port adapter, using NVSPBIND to remove all bindings from the ports, then using PROSETCL to enable VMQ. However when I do a "PROSETCL Adapter_Enumeratesettings 1" there is no "*VMQ" setting for this adapter.

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

You cannont enable VMQ on the Intel® PRO/1000 PT Quad Port Low Profile Server Adapter. The Intel® PRO/1000 PT Quad Port Low Profile Server Adapter is an older adapter that launched in 2007. Only the newer adapters have support for VMQ. Use ark.intel.com to compare adapter specifications and look for VMDq support.

The product briefs for each adapter have more details than you can find on the ark site, but this is a good place to start for making quick comparisions.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Mark.

Not the reply I was hoping for Guess I'll need to talk to our hardware vendor again.
