RSYNC network breakdown issues with Intel Ethernet Connection (14) L219-LM w/ driver version 12.19.2

SKR

Running RSYNC w/ a system containing Intel Ethernet Connection (14) L219-LM w/ driver version 12.19.2.45 will break the network stack and eventually freeze the computer (typically when attempting to restart the computer…a hard reset is required).

OS: Windows 11
Note: When driver version downgraded its working fine.

Any Inputs? Thanks in advance.

Hello SKR,

Thank you for the patience on this matter.

Please try out the drivers from HP and Let us check if the issue still persist or not. Especially the driver version 12.19.2.50 which both works on Win 10 and 11.

Hello SKR,

Thank you for providing the information requested.

Please allow us to further check this query with our higher leve support team. We will give you an update as soon as possible but no later than 3 business days.

We'd like to set your expectation that for Original Equipment Manufacturer(OEM) on-board Ethernet controller, we have a limited support and it would be best if you can also get in touch with HP for further support since they have customized drivers and software to enable or alter features on your system. They are in best position where you can seek assistance so you don’t lose features or customizations of the Ethernet controller.

Hoping for your kind patience.

Hi Crisselle,

This has been reproduced on 4 totally unrelated computers on 4 unrelated network / internet providers.

example: OptiPlex 7090s (Service Tag 5QHH2N3 for example)

Hello SKR,

Thank you for the patience on this matter.

Please see below feedback from our higher level support and let us know if you have questions or clarifications.

Can you share the direct download link of the driver version 12.18.9.23 which was working on this configuration? Additionally, what is your Operating System? Based on your system configuration, you are using Windows 10 Pro but looking at the information on your initial post, you mentioned that your OS was Windows 11.

Have you also tried the drivers from your system manufacturer because they are the best source of support as your system manufacturer might have customization that is tailored for your system

Hi Crisselle,

Thanks for the reply!

Driver version 12.18.9.23 we received directly after OS installation.

We used Windows10 pro and Windows 11 pro on the same machine just to verify any OS dependency.

We even observed another nic  (3) I225-v  driver version "1.0.2.14" also has this issue.

Due to extensive verification, we found that when there is a huge and continuous transfer of data (using complete bandwidth - upload)  latest versions of NIC crash. When we reduced the data transfer rate there is no crash observed.

We also tried a setting " disabling 'Large Send offload V2' " on the advanced properties of nic and it worked, but it reduced our data transfer.

How come some driver versions can take the load (ex: 12.18.9.23) and other versions (ex:12.19.2.45) not able to?

We tried same load on Realtek its runs without issue!

Please check and provide an optimal solution in the new update sooner, we cant make these changes to the many computers of our clients.

Looking forward to your reply!

Regards,

SKR
