SGMII with the i210IS Ethernet controller without an external PHY.

I have a qurey about your comments

""SGMII interface can't be used to connect a Switch. The SGMII is defined for MAC-PHY connection.""

The SGMII connect to SGMII means MAC2MAC mode and we already used other chip many years and work well. 

So I want to know why I210-IS can not support SGMII connecto to ethernet switch (SGMII) port.

Because we want to save one phy chip in our soultion.
