Regarding Intel® 82599ES 10 Gigabit Ethernet Controller, Dual Port, FCBGA, what is the difference between Step Codes SR1VN and SLGWE. Why does Intel make these types of questions difficult to find answers to?

Thank you for your concern. I couldn't tell what the differences were between these two step codes. I could get overall specs on the two step codes, but it wasn't clear what was changed going from one to the other, or when the step codes were implemented. It would be great if Intel provided some way of seeing what the changes were, like a PCN notice. If you can provide that information, it would be helpful.

Hello GLefk, There is no change in specification if there are different step codes. Usually there are changes in parts or errata or fixes update. That's good to know. How do I find the PCN that changed the Step Code on this part? Also, why does Intel have an MM# and a Step Code Number if they both identify the part. What does MM stand for? I appreciate your support!
