Regarding Packet Loss before and after PFC Configuration in RDMA.

Hi,
We have successfully configured RDMA and PFC using Intel Ethernet Network Adapter E810-XXVDA2/E810-CQDA2.
We wanted to know if there is any method/technique/tool by which we can check packet loss before and after PFC Configuration.
Thanking you in anticipation.

Hello Sushrut,

Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.

Before we proceed, let me clarify if you are designing a board/system with embedded E810-XXVDA2/E810-CQDA2?

If you have questions, please let us know. In case we do not hear from you, we will make a follow up after 3 workings days. Thank you.

Hi Mike,

No, we are not designing a board/system with embedded E810-XXVDA2/E810-CQDA2, we are just using it for the benchmarking purpose and we want to have an idea on the packet loss in RDMA configuration with/without using PFC.
So, if you have any method/technique/tool by which we can check the packet loss, it would be helpful.

Hello Sushrut,

Thank you for the quick reply. For us to further check the issue, please provide the following details.

  1. Can you tell us how you are conducting the bencmark?
  2. Are you using PCIe E810-XXVDA2/E810-CQDA2?
  3. What is the brand and model of your board/system?
  4. Can you tell us more about the system that you are using like OS and link of the driver used for us to get a better picture of your configuration for benchmarking.

If you have questions, please let us know. In case we do not hear from you, we will make a follow up after 3 workings days. Thank you.

Hi Mike,

1. We are performing fio test to benchmark the performance.
2. Yes we are using E810-XXVDA2/E810-CQDA2.
3. We are using Intel Server Board S2600WF and Intel Server Board S2600BP.
4. Operating System: Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 8.6 (Ootpa) Kernel:-Linux 4.18.0-372.16.1.el8_6.x86_64 GNU/Linux.
We are using Intel Network Adapter Driver for E810 Series Devices under Linux

We have completed the benchmarking using fio. We are unable to check the packet loss with and without PFC. It would be really great if you can help us with the same.
