Good morning,
I have some problems with my new PC and I would like to downgrade my driver to a previous version (that I had on my old PC)
I've been searching since this morning but I haven't found an official Intel link for a driver version of my Intel Ethernet Controller
I am searching for :
Windows 11 - Intel(R) Ethernet Controller (3) i225-V
version 1.1.3.28
(I don't know if I need to specify it but I have a motherboard : MSI Z790)
I only found versions 2.x.x.x
Thank you in advance

Hi Ankoo,
Thanks for the information.
Since there is a known issue so we prefer to give some prior information to customer and sorry if it's a bit long. We will try to make it simpler.
It seems like for MSI Z790 Edge Wifi there are latest driver version available at MSI website. We recommend you to give it a try and if it have issue later you might need to share some feedback to MSI since it's still a new release.
"What is the good folder for i225-v / i226-v on MSI board (Z790 Edge wifi) please?"
The driver for i225-v / i226-v is inside folder Release_28.0\PRO2500\PRO2500\Winx64.
There are three folder inside:
- NDIS68
- W11
- WS2022
NDIS is stand for Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS) driver package and it looks like the driver version inside folder NDIS68 is 1.1.3.28. You may check the e2f.inf file inside. WS2022 is probably for Windows Server 2022.
Best regards,

Hi Ankoo,
Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.
We believe that MSI may have different set of driver (may not have version 1.1.3.28) and as what we known so far it seems like version 1.1.3.28 is currently available at ASUS website for both Windows 10 and 11 that only for ASUS board. For Intel side, you may check on Intel® Ethernet Adapter Complete Driver Pack from below link as it also may contain driver for i225-V and some fix for known issue however it's still recommended to use OEM driver which is MSI instead.
Intel® Ethernet Adapter Complete Driver Pack Version 28.0 (large files)
We recommend you to check the latest driver version release that available from MSI website. Let say you are using Windows 11, you may try with latest version 2.1.3.3 only if you haven't or if you have issue with previous version driver as it might contain fix for known issue.
We recommend you to get consult with OEM for the best driver for your motherboard since their driver might be optimized/customized with their product.
In order to better assist you, you may share below information:
- MSI Z790 type (e.g.: MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK/MPG Z790 CARBON WIFI)
- What is the problem with the new PC?(e.g.: network speed/random disconnect)
- What is the Ethernet Controller driver version that currently install.

Hello, and thank you for this long and complete explanation,
I have an MSI Z790 Edge Wifi And I've read a lot of disconnection problems with the ethernet controller it comes with.
At the moment I haven't had many problems because the PC is very new and I haven't had the opportunity to try it properly yet but I wanted to be proactive and downgrade the driver with a version I had on my old motherboard (which is actually an asus)
I will then try to put the last update as you advised me... Hope it work good..
Just a question : in the 28.0 bundle there is a lot of folder.. What is the good folder for i225-v / i226-v on MSI board (Z790 Edge wifi) please ?
Thanks for all.
