Teaming with Intel Proset

Hi,

I created a team:

TeamName : TEAM: Intel&ASIX
TeamMembers : {Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I219-V, ASIX AX88179 USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter}
TeamMode : IEEE802_3adDynamicLinkAggregation
PrimaryAdapter : Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I219-V
SecondaryAdapter : ASIX AX88179 USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

Windows sees the team as 2.0 Gbps but the actual speed is still (slightly) under 1 Gbps.

The switch used to connect the PC to the network shows:

Port: Gi1/0/6 the port that connects the non-Intel adapter seems to be mostly transmitting
Tx Pkts: 593,572
Tx Bytes: 678,120,590
Rx Pkts: 27,138
Rx Bytes: 8,274,988

Port: Gi1/0/7 the port that connects the Intel adapter seems to be mostly receiving
Tx Pkts: 13,661
Tx Bytes: 1,752,028
Rx Pkts: 160,636
Rx Bytes: 39,756,900

Hi Vane,

Thank you for waiting for our update.

After checking the requirements for Link Aggregation, which you can find on page 20 of https://downloadmirror.intel.com/28410/eng/Adapter_User_Guide_26_0.pdf

Based on the text, you also need a Static Link Aggregation capable switch. May we know where your cards are connected to? Are you connected to a switch or router? May we know the brand and model of it to check if it is a Static Link Aggregation capable switch?

Additionally, we want to confirm the command that you used to set up the teaming. Did you use this command in Powershell to set up the teaming?

We look forward to your reply. Should we not get your reply, we will follow up after three business days.

Hi,

Actually I am in this situation:

IEEE 802.3ad Dynamic Link Aggregation - creates one or more teams using Dynamic Link Aggregation with
mixed-speed adapters. Like the Static Link Aggregation teams, Dynamic 802.3ad teams increase transmission
and reception throughput and provide fault tolerance. This teaming type requires a switch that fully supports the
IEEE 802.3ad standard.

I have a switch that supports both static and dynamic.

Hi Vane,

Thank you for waiting for our update.

While we were closely checking your concern, we find the need to get a more comprehensive look at your current system configuration and the advanced settings for your team and the new Intel adapter.

Please download and run our Intel® System Support Utility from this page https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-. After running it, you will be given an option to save the logs to a text file; please do so and attach the file to your reply.

Additionally, kindly provide us the markings of the new card that you bought. You may refer to this page for the markings that we are asking for.

We look forward to your reply. Should we not get your reply, we will follow up after three business days.

Hi Vane,

Thank you for following up regarding this.

We thoroughly checked the email that you sent as we are closely monitoring your ticket. We are surprised that we did not find the SSU logs there, as you were able to provide them earlier with the third-party adapter.

We would appreciate your cooperation in providing the logs since we need to check the driver installed and the firmware on the new ethernet adapter.

Please download and run our Intel® System Support Utility from this page https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-. After running it, you will be given an option to save the logs to a text file. Please do so and attach the file to your reply.

Hi Vane,

Your issue is very important to us, and after you sent the logs, we immediately investigated on your concern.

Here are our initial findings:

1. Please try to use the latest driver for the new card that you have installed. You can download it from this page, https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22283/Intel-Ethernet-Adapter-Complete-Driver-Pack.

Please disengage the team first, apply the update, re-engage it and see if the speed issue is fixed.

2. Kindly provide us the markings of the card that you newly bought. If possible, please provide us a picture of the markings on the different stickers placed on the card.

It looks like you need more time to provide the information that we asked.

We will follow up again after three business days. Should we not hear from you, our system may automatically close the thread.
