Trispeed MAC configuration for QSFP+ I/O

Hi, 

 

I'm using the Trispeed MAC for a design I'm working on with the Arria 10, I understand Avalon interfaces and packet timing, control registers etc, but physically what should I use to connect from the MAC core to SFP? I have MDIO (MDC/MDIO) module enabled in my design. What do I need to do to connect to SFP? I notice the port maps include TBI but I don't think I have a use for that. Do I need to use SERDES and map this to the SFP pins - never worked with HW ethernet before. Thanks for your time.
