Two questions about X710-AT2

Hi sir,

 

I have a server system with the onboard X710-AT2 Ethernet controller, I met two issues here:

 

1. Sometimes the FW flash failed by nvmupdatew64e tool under Windows Server 2022 with latest X710-AT2 driver package v28.2.1 installed, see below screenshot, the failure rate is about 5%.

Say that, when I try to update the FW, but it failed, so then I create a simple batch to flash it for 100 times, and 5 of 100 got the issue.

The tool I used is downloaded from Intel, the version is 1.39.56.8, and the X710 FW version I'd want to flash is v9.30, the image also is downloaded from same Intel X710 webpage.

Please advise if it relates to tool or driver or even a HW issue.

 

2. When I try to run the X710 performance test thru NTTTCP tool(the same OS and driver and FW mentioned in above), I got error counters like below screenshot.

The tool I used is with latest version v5.39, the connection I used is connect two X710-AT2 ports cross two the same servers.

As I know the NTTTCP tool is developed by Microsoft, but I don't know what mean for the error counters since I cannot get more information about this tool, also I aware the Retransmits also got counters.

Is there any way or tool from Intel that can help me to clarify the issue?

CPU:

BIOS:

Server name:

You can update your Intel® Network Adapter Driver for Windows Server 2022 if you don’t have the latest version yet.

CPU: Intel Xeon Silver 4310T

BIOS: v1.20

Server name: ASRock SPC621D8U-2T

Hi Hayat,

 

X710-AT2 is an onboard controller on ASRock server board, not a NIC card.

Thank you for your response.

Since it is an onboard controller, we would suggest you to contact ASRock support.

You might need to do a Clean Driver Installation Guide for Intel® Ethernet Connections since you have installed the driver from direct Intel.

As the Intel ethernet controller is directly from ASRock Server, they might have their own driver update for this.

Please let us know after you have contact ASRock support and will be happy to assist if any other troubleshooting required for this issue.
