Greetings,
I am seeking guidance on updating the Intel NIC Driver to the latest version on a Fedora CoreOS machine. Despite thorough research, I couldn't find specific instructions tailored to Fedora CoreOS for this task.
Here are the details of the NIC :
- NIC: Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller XXV710 for 25GbE SFP28 (rev 02)
- Current Driver Version: i40e (5.14.0-284.48.1.rt14.333.el9_2)
- Firmware Version: 9.40 0x8000e9b0 22.5.7
While the firmware version is up to date, the driver version requires an update. I aim to install the latest driver version available from the Intel website, accessible via this link: Intel Network Adapter Driver for PCIe 40 Gigabit Ethernet Network Connections under Linux.
For context, on Ubuntu, I successfully updated the driver using the following
ubuntu@bm5:~$ sudo ethtool -i ens2f0
driver: i40e
version: 2.24.6
firmware-version: 9.40 0x8000e9b0 22.5.7
expansion-rom-version: bus-info: 0000:b3:00.0
Note:
there are no available .repo files, in case I need to install something, please suggest the repo for the same I will be using.
/etc/yum.repos.d/
Looking forward to hearing you back!
Thanks!
Md Rouf
