Why LRO is not supported in XL710

Hi,

Earlier I used LRO on 82599. Trying to use the same on XL710 40G NIC. But found XL710 does not support LRO offload.

I am aware of the issues with LRO but Just would like to know why XL710 completely removed LRO while it was supported on 82599.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,

VSR

Hi VSR,

Thank you for contacting Intel.

The LRO is replaced by GRO. Generic Receive Offload (GRO) is an evolution of the previously-used LRO interface.

Please refer to website below for more information about GRO:

Hope this is helpful. If you have further questions, please feel free to post it here.
