When I install the driver ver 21.1 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25016/Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-10 Download Intel® Network Adapter Driver for Windows® 10 I get a message

"Important Note: Creating Intel® ANS teams and VLANs on Microsoft Windows® 10 is currently not supported. As a result, when created, teams and VLANs do not pass traffic. We expect that ANS will be supported on Microsoft Windows 10 client in a future release"

I dont need teaming etc...but once the driver is installed, I dont see WOL in the ADVANCED option ???

Where is the WOL feature???

Thanks,

Hi Inukshuk,

Thank you for the post. The WOL feature is not available as currently Windows 10 does not support the Advance Teaming and VLAN features (which were supported in previous older Windows version).

Please refer to the announcement on our website for Windows 10 driver download site (which similar to the message you encountered)

Hi Inukshuk,

I am sorry currently there is no full support driver of Intel network adapters X540 in Windows* 10, and we do not have the timeline for the ANS feature, we expect that ANS will be supported on Windows 10 client in a future release.

Apologize for the inconvenience this might have caused.

Hi Inukshuk,

For the wake on lan, you can use the options in power management - wake on magic packet, please check this out if could be of use to you.

Hi Inukshuk,

Can you share more information about the WOL option, under normal scenario, there should be a wake on option such as "wake on magic packet" under "power management" tab in the adapter properties.

What is the exact driver installed / appeared on your NIC?

Please also provide the exact 550 model, is it a standalone NIC or onboard NIC? What is the brand and model of the board if it is onboard NIC?

Thanks,

Hi Inukshuk,

Further checking 10 Gigabit adapter does not support WOL as stated at http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products/000005793.html

However based on our READme information https://downloadmirror.intel.com/19186/eng/readme.txt

"The Intel(R) Ethernet Converged Network Adapter X550-T1 and Intel(R) Ethernet Converged Network Adapter X550-T2 have a manageability/AUX power connector. These devices only support WoL if AUX power is supplied via this connector. Note that this is system and adapter specific. Some with this connector do not support WoL. Some systems do not provide the correct power connection. See your system documentation for details."

Please help check with your system vendor if the system comes with aux power

connector and supports WOL.
