Hello,
The i40e driver reports:
i40e 0000:04:00.0: The driver for the device detected an older version of the NVM image than expected. Please update the NVM image.
When I try to update the NVM using NVM Update Utility for Intel (I tried with version 4.42, 4.5 and the latest 5.04), the tool reports 'Update not available'

Hi Adrian,
Thank you for your information.
Your adapter is an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) unit. Base on the part number, it is used on Dell* systems. Please try to update the card using the firmware bundle from Dell*:
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=8028X
*This link will take you off of the Intel website. Intel does not control the content of the destination website.
Hope this is helpful.
Sincerely,
Sandy
