We have a Dell EMC R740xd-12 with 6 X710da2 cards (12 ports) and it appears with the i40en (i40e) driver that there is an 8 port limit on ESXi. Is there any way to work around this? Is this limitation exist in the Windows (Hyper-V) driver as well?

Thank you for posting in Wired Ethernet Community.

Based on Microsoft website, there's no limit imposed by Hyper-V host for physical network adapter. Kindly refer to this https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/virtualization/hyper-v/plan/plan-hyper-v-scalability-in-windows-server link for details.
