Dear,

We are using XL710-BM2 controller for our application to meet four 10G SFP+ interface.

XL710-BM2 controller detecting using lspci command on the terminal.

And we flashed .bin file using DOS boot system.

After .bin file flashing four 10G SFP+ showing in ifconfig list. But ports are not getting link.

Please let us how to get the ports link.

Dear Devi,

We are using intel SFP+ optical module only. But we are not getting link. Speed & Duplex showing unknown in ethtool. Please suggest for go forward.

I tried with below bin files. But not getting connectivity.

XL710_9p52_SFI_NCSI_CFGID7p0_Quad.bin

Dear Amina,

We are using this controller XL710-BM2 for our design where our requirement is to configure for 10GbE( SFP+) 2 ports from the 4 ports available. We have installed the driver i40e. But when we run NVMe update tool first time, it says access error as our Device ID is 154B by default( because we have dont entry for this device ID inside nvmeconfig.cfg )

pls let us know, how to proceed further.
Note: We are not using any NIC card but we are using only Ethernet controller XL710-BM2. we have designed our own board.

Below are some more information of our project:

1)  We are not using any NIC card for mounting this Ethernet controller XL710-BM2. We have directly used XL710 reference schematic rev 1.3 and designed our own PCB.

2)  From NVM package as per our requirement, We used two bin files XL710_9p52_SFI_MCTP_CFGID7p2_QUAD.bin and XL710_9p52_SFI_MCTP_CFGID7p0_QUAD.bin , inside the 700 series NVM Update package folder, that we had tried flashing through DOS mode using LANCONFIG tool ( As Nvm update tool gives access error for our Ethernet controller which has device ID 154B before flashing).

Please let us know, which is the correct bin file that should be used for flashing to meet out requirement of 10G 4 channels QUAD controller, though we have routed only two 10GbE ports(Two 10G SFP+ fibre optic interface)

3) Post loading the bin file are there any other configurations to be done?.  Please let us know, If yes, send us relevant document/steps.

4) Following are part number details of the EEPROM chip that we are using for flashing. Please let us know if this is feasible and compatible for our design.

AT25SF641B-SHB-T , 64MB EEPROM

5) Are there any steps to enable the 2 ports by updating valid CRC value in the corresponding EEPROM memory addresses using DOS method, LANCONFIG tool.

6) After loading bin file, in the terminal when we check with the command "ifconfig" it is listing 4 ports. But connectivity is not working.

7) While running ecpt tool, we are getting not supported devices error. Please let us know.

When we run the Ethtool -i <portname> we get "Unknown" status for port and speed fields. For auto-negotiable field we get "Off".
