Hi,
I updated NVM and used qcu for configuring Intel XL710QDA2 to 4x10 mode.
This adapter has two 40Gb ports.
However the qcu displayed that the adapter doesn't support configuration modification as below.
How can I config to support 4x10 mode with this adapter?
Thanks,
Iris
I'd like to set up Intel XL710

Hi IrisLee,
Thank you for contacting Intel.
The valid configurations for Intel® Ethernet Converged Network Adapters XL710-QDA2 are:
2x40, 2x2x10, 4x10
For 4x10 configuration, use /set=4x10.
Sincerely,
Sandy

Hi Sandy,
Thank you for answering.
I understood to use ./qcu64e /nic=1 /set=4x10 command for setting breakout mode.
However my question is that, I couldn't set it to 4x10 mode due to the error message I have as below:
[root@centos12 qcu]# ./qcu64e /nic=1 /info
Intel(R) QSFP+ Configuration Utility
QCU version: v1.24.35.01
Copyright(C) 2015 by Intel Corporation.
Software released under Intel Proprietary License.
QSFP+ Configuration modification is not supported by this adapter.
I downloaded Intel® Network Connections Software from below link.
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25432/Intel-Ethernet-Connections-CD Download Intel® Ethernet Connections CD
I tested from 20.0, 20.1, 20.2, 20.3 and 20.4.1 which is the latest version, however when I ran qcu64e, the message shows N/A mode.
I'd like to see 2x40 mode or something like that, so I can program it to 4x10 mode or so.
Could you please let me know why I couldn't see the mode of adapter with valid option?
Please let me know if you need any more information.
Thanks,
Iris

Hi Iris,
Thanks for writing back. Please provide us the serial number of your network adapter.
We would like to verify if your network adapter is an Intel Retail Adapter or manufactured for other systems manufacturers (OEM). Some OEM adapters are customized for certain systems and may not be compatible with our configuration tool.

We look forward to your reply,
Sincerely,
Sandy

Hi Iris,
I'm sorry for the late reply. Can you also provide the model of module that you are using with the XL710 card? Thanks.
Sincerely,
