XL710 QDA2 link not detected.

I have setup my server (PowerEdge R620) with CentOS 7 and attached XL710-QDA2 40GbE NIC card on PCIe 3 slot. The driver i40e is updated to the latest version 2.4.10 and using compatible QSFP 4 x 10 GbE module / cable (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ethernet-products/optics-cables/ethernet-qsfp-cables-brief.html X4DACBL5) as shown in the link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000006051/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products.html QSFP+ Modules/Cables Compatible with Intel® Ethernet Server Adapter...

However, though ifconfig shows the interface is up, it does not detect the link or the cable attached. The LED near the port does not light up.

Do I need to install any other drivers for the SFP module? Am I missing something here?

Thanks,

Prakash

Hello Prakashkurup7,

Thank you for posting in Intel Wired Ethernet Communities. Do you have a spare cable or adapter you can swap out to test each part? Please post the following outputs from the terminal in CentOS:

ehtool -i  ethtool

modinfo i40e

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best Regards,
