The question is is there a way to check the signal on the INTEL side? The remote end is set to RS-FEC. No errors are seen on the switch, only on the intel NIC.
I also notice more errors with are seen when both interfaces are active in file transfers and when switch is in a forwarding mode of cut-through.
I don't see the issue when I use a copper SFP28 3 meter cable
System is running CentOS Linux release 7.0.1406
02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Device 158b (rev 02)
netstat -i

HI Arod,
Thank you for posting in Wired Communities. Just to double check:
1) What is the switch model used?
2) What is the SFP28 modules you used? Please make sure to use the validated model at

Looking forward to your reply. Thank you.l

Thanks for the information. The switch was not really the issue as I got errors going NIC to NIC. We were not aware of the 3rd party SFP28 limitations with this NIC when we installed them in the operability wall for all new devices.
We will make a note and move on.
Thanks,
