We have several clients with a HP 6000 Pro running XP Pro that have an issue with LAN connection. Connection icon keeps showing"cable not connected" in system tray, not only after sleep, but also when at work. We tried different drivers (current one is HP 14.6_206701 Rev. A (10 May 2010), different cables, different switch, but are running out of ideas. Additional installed Linksys 10/100 PCI card works without any problems. Any suggestions?

I have seen the same issue with the HP6000 and other systems (anything with a 82567LM-3 card) . Network disconnects, network connectivity issues when resuming from standby, and difficulties setting the WOL settings. I have been trying to find a solution for over 6 months. The only solution is to place a third party network card in the system or dont use the standby/sleep states.
