Re: i350 10BASE-T interoperability

I have an i350 NIC (10/100/1000BASE-T port) connected to another node with a Broadcom BCM54640E PHY. Everything works fine in 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T modes. However, in 10BASE-T, no traffic goes through even though the link comes up. Packet counters in the BCM device indicate that it is sending packets, but the RX counters on the i350 NIC indicate no packets received. The same BCM device is able to interoperate at 10BASE-T with other nodes with Broadcom and Marvell PHYs, as well as an i210-based node. Any tips to debug this urgent issue are highly appreciated. Please provide the following information as this would help us in checking your query.

1.) Are you using an embedded controller or PCIe card? If PCIe card, please share the PBA and serial number of the adapter for us to be able to identify the exact model of your card. You may refer to the link below on where to find the PBA number. You may also provide photos of the adapters focusing on the markings (white sticker) found on the physical card for us to double check on it. The PBA is consist of 6-digit number located at the last part of the serial number.

Thanks Crisselle. It is a PCIe NIC card but right now we are not in a position to provide an image of the adapter since we are working from home and accessing the device remotely. Also, since it is a shared device it is not easy to update the driver. We will wait for an appropriate time when we an update the driver without impacting other folks. Also, with our debug so far has narrowed the issue down to some peculiar behavior in the Broadcom device at 10BASE-T and we are investigating that with Broadcom’s help. I will get back if we need additional help from Intel.
