Hello Henri Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities. Kindly provide the markings of the Ethernet Adapter from the product label to confirm if this is an Intel retail version. You may refer to this link on where to find the adapter's PBA and Serial number. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000007022/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products.html Can you confirm if the NVM driver with version: 6.80 was downloaded from this site. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24769/Non-Volatile-Memory-NVM-Update-Utility-for-Intel-Ethernet-Network-Adapter-710-Series Looking forward to hear from you. Hi Crisselle,

the server is up and running, but I found that on the invoice: "INTEL X710-DA4FHBLK 10GbE Ethernet Server Adapter 4 Ports Direct Attach Dual Port Copper PCIe 3.0".

Yes, I downloaded the NVM update there, it's just a driver issue, the card works fine with VMXNET3.

The driver requirements for NVM 6.80 are not mentioned here: https://www.intel.de/content/www/de/de/support/articles/000005893/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products.html

but according to VMWARE it should be okay: https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/detail.php%3FdeviceCategory%3Dio%26productid%3D37996

But does not work with SR-IOV.

Thanks

Henri

Hello Henri Thank you for the prompt reply. We will further check on this and update you as soon as possible. Can you share the firmware version of the X710-DA4 prior to 6.80 update? This would also help us in checking your query. Looking forward to hear from you. Best regards, Crisselle C Intel Customer Support Under Contract to Intel Corporation

Hi Crisselle,

it was an old version (some 4.x), in order to enable SR-IOV, I updated the NVM and the driver to the lastest releases.

Thanks

Henri

Hi Crisselle,

that was me too. Because the NVM update trigged to issue in the driver, I did not know if Intel or VMWARE has to fix it.

Thanks

Henri
