APB interface

Hi,

I am trying to configure third party IP from my platform designer system. This IP uses APB interface. I wanted to know if I can use build in bridge inorder to config this IP from NIOS?

Yes. The third-party IP will have its own address map.

Unfortunately the NiosV do not have APB interface, there is an AXI4 interface for the NiosV.

You could try creating your own APB to AXI4 bridge for the connection.

If your IP could connect through AXI4 you can connect it to the DataManager connector of the NiosV in the Platform Designer.

You could refer to the example design below. The PIO IP is connected to the NiosV through AXI4.

What if I want to write my own component with specific address mapping. What should I do ?
