Hello Altera Team,

We're currently using Intel #5CEFA4F23C8N.

We are looking into the possibility of migrating to a slightly larger FPGA (same package), and I was wondering if there will be pinout issues: Intel #5CEFA5F23I7?

Thank you,
Don

The FPGA series is basically migration compatible, but some pins must stay unused or tied to GND/ supply in the design. There's a simple way to check if your present A4 pin assignment can be used with A5 as well,
1. add the migration device in Quartus and compile
2. compare the present pinout file with migration compatible pin mapping for additional GND and supply pin requirements.

Thank you @FvM for the accurate answer.

I wish to follow up if there is any additional question on this?
