We have a couple of designs that use Cyclone10GX. On both we use the Internal Temperature Sensing Diode (TSD) IP to monitor the die temperature. Up to now this has worked well and seems to give a believable reading that is typically a few degrees C higher than the external case temperature. However, we have started to notice some boards that have a significant offset in the temperature from the expected. This varies but can be up to 10 to 15 degrees higher than expected consistently across the temperature range. In all other respects the boards work fine with normal device case temperatures and power consumption.
Is there a known issue with the Internal TSD of the Cyclone10GX?
Any other possible explanation?
Thanks.
