Hi everybody

on the page:

altera.com/support/ip/dsp/ips-dsp-builder-faq.html

I've found this sentence:

q. how do i purchase fully licensed dsp builder software?

A. You can obtain fully licensed DSP Builder software either by purchasing an Altera DSP development kit or the stand-alone DSP Builder product (ordering code: IPT-DSPBUILDER).

Well: I've just bought a Cyclone III video Processing development kit

mentioned in the list of the "Altera Development kits" How can I proceed to obtain a DSP Builder license?

On the altera web site I've not found the solution.

Thank-you for your kind answer

I've tried that way, however I stop on step 3 because it is written that the

license activation code should be provided by e-mail directly from Altera.

and I've no address or e-mail who asking for the activation code!

i think you should put the development kit serial into the activation code box. the User Guide for the kit will probably help you figure out where the serial is printed on the kit's box

This solution does not work

The only "number" I found on the shipped material is an external label attached on the container box with the part number and the lot number.

Nothing which seem a "serial number" or an "activation code" and the only consideration about the licensing I found in the user guide assume that I've already a "licence.dat" file.

Addenda:

Actually I've found on the bottom side of the board two micro-label with

S/N, P/N and a third one with another number. I tried to activate the product with all of them but the answer is always the same "INVALID activating code"

Moreover I do not know how to contact Altera for an help.

In "My support" web page there is no way to send an help request.

here is the instructions for one of the kits for finding the serial number:

--- Quote Start ---

The kit serial number is an 11-digit code of the form 3S150SPXXXX where the Xs

represent decimal numbers. This serial number is located on the development kit box.

Refer to the serial number sticker in Figure 3–2. The serial number is the bottom-most

number, which is 3S150SPXXXX in the example shown.

--- Quote End ---

you may try calling Altera customer service at 800-SOS-EPLD to get your license sorted out

Thank you again for your support

However I was not been able to find a serial number like with that structure:

I've found three labels on the board

S/N (19 digits) starting with S0020......

P/N (11digits) starting with 6XX-.....

another (12 digits) starting with 0007ED ....

Moreover on the container there is another label with two code

DK-DEV-3C120 .....

LOT#XXXX
