NIOS II DEBUG

Hi, 

i am working on a simple project that runs a simple timer. i want to debug and trace it. i wonder if Eclipse nios sbt tool has a tracing way. 

my purpose is watch the changing variable value simultaneously (without suspend the code) and change whenever i want. is there any way to do it?
