I was wondering if anyone has experience of electrical testing of PCI express add in card PCBs with the Altera hard IP.

In particular, has anyone at the eye diagram on an oscilloscope. I am not talking about a full PCI compliance test, I am talking in terms of hardware debugging.

I have looked at the cost of the hardware to do this (scope $65,000 to buy new, $35,000 used or $4000 for month’s rental).

Has anyone else pursued this path?

Or do you use a third party test lab? If so who do you use?
