Are there FMC cables available to connect 2 Arria 10 Development boards together? I've checked with a couple of vendors and I'm not sure what is needed. Tx pairs from one board need to connect with Rx pairs on the other and vice versa. We had a similar cables for use with the HSMC connectors on previous generation development boards.
Thanks, MattLink Copied

Unfortunately I only found FMC-HSMC adapter listed on Altera website
https://www.altera.com/products/boards_and_kits/daughter-cards.html It doesn't seem like they offer FMC-FMC cable...- Mark as New

I believe the first three cables listed here do what you want:

However, I think the problem is that the connectors have to be on the opposite side. I think mechanically, the only way to connect two boards together is to stack the two boards and have a cable similar to the one pictured in that link. However, the first 3 (board to board) have the connectors on the same side. I believe the heat sink on the Arria 10 board would prevent using cables with connectors on the same side. I have a request into HiTech Global but have not heard a response as of yet. Thanks, Matt

Thanks, Matt --- Quote End --- Hi Matt, This is how we connect two TR5 with the FMC to FMC cable, but we currently don’t supply this cable. https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=12843 We purchased the FMC cable (HDR-153514-XX) from Samtec directly, and I think you might want to check if they can provide this unit to you as well. However, since we don’t know which specific Arria 10 Dev. Board you intend to connected with, I’m not quite sure if every mother board can use the same type of the cable as we used. Let me know if you have any question. Thanks. Regards, Mavis
