In Cyclone V datasheet,Configuration devices do not include EPCQL,but EPCQ device.

The documentation for Cyclone V is a little inconsistent. The fact that the documentation doesn't mention the EPCQL just shows it's a little old. However, the configuration guide on states: "Connect the pull-up resistors to VCCPGM at 3.0- or 3.3-V power supply", implying only these voltages are supported. Again, I think this is a little out of date.

The datasheet clearly shows that both bank 3A and VCCPGM support 1.8V operation. This is all that is required for the EPCQL device to work.

So, although I've never done so, nor can I find a development board using it, I think the EPCQL device will work fine.

It is worth raising a ticket with Intel to confirm.

Regards,

Alex

Hi XG Kang ,

EPCQ-L flash device family only compatible with Intel® Stratix® 10, Intel Arria® 10, and Intel Cyclone® 10 GX FPGAs. (NOT compatible with Cyclone V)

Please refer to following link for more details:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/programmable/configuration-device.html

Alternatively, you also can use 3rd party Intel devices supported by Intel® Quartus®.

Please refer to the following link for more details (go to option Intel Supported configuration Devices --> Intel supported Third party configuration device):

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/programmable/support/support-resources/support-centers/configuration-support.html

I hope this will help you.

Thanks. :)
