Confusing differences between DE0-Nano User Manual (2.0 2016-11-17) and Quartus 16.1.0 Lite

Hello, I'm a confused learner, concerned by some lack of continuity between the DE0-Nano user manual and what happens in Quartus 16.1. It may only be trivial to experts, but some clarity would be great for me!

1) I have worked out how to invoke megafunctions, which is very different to how the manual describes the process. When could the DE0 user manual be updated to reflect this new UI approach?

2) When invoking megafunctions, the DE0 user manual also refers to choosing VerilogHDL out of AHDL/VHDL/VerilogHDL , while Quartus 16.1 only offers VHDL/Verilog, so which option should I choose at this stage, to make the exercise work? (DE0 user manual, p56 section 4c)

I hope someone else has walked this path and knows what's supposed to be going on, please?

Thanks for your time reading this, all help appreciated.

Matt.

Hi,

  1. I can understand your confusion about the megafunction, please refer the below screenshot & invoke it from IP Catalog.
  2. You should use the verilog since it is mentioned in user manual.
