Hi everyone. I have a Stratix 3 board and a THDB-Sum daughter board. I want to attach another board on top of the daughter board. But I don't know 1. how to attach the daughter board to Stratix 3.

2. how to use attach another board to the daughter board.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is it the stratix III dev kit? What is the other daughterboard that you want to connect?

The Stratix Dev kit has two HSMC connectors. Each one of those can accept one daughterboard, such as the THDB-Sum. The THDB-Sum itself can only accept Santa Cruz daughter boards.

Hi. I am using Stratix III Development board. I want to use Microtronix USB/Ethernet Santa Cruz board. So, I have to use THDB-Sum daughter board that provide Santa Cruz connections. But I am not sure how to make sure the USB on the Microtronix board works.

It is Stratix 3 development and education board. It only has HSTC connectors.

Hi Moganesh,

On the DE3 Stratix III Dev Kit, the HSTC connectors are male, and the THDB-SUM HSMC connectors are also male. They are compatible but you must use a female-to-female adapter in-between. These should have been included in the DE3 package.

Please do NOT insert the daughter card on the underside of the development kit. You will risk damaging the FPGA.

Hi Ayhoung,

Thank you for the suggestions. I did that ready. I use THDB-HFF to do that. But the problem is I am not sure the pin assignment. And I do not know the pin assignment I do is correct or wrong.

I'm sure you have tried this, but just in case, you can look at the pin assignments in the product manuals.

You can find the DE3 Manual at:

You can find the THDB-SUM Manual at:
