DE0-Nano Board Layout File

Hello,

I am using the DE0-Nano board for a university project and I want to make a custom PCB design using the cyclone 4 FPGA in it, therefore I deduce that I need the PCB file (Gerber or GDS file) of the FPGA so that I can use it to make my custom design. I search a lot but I did not found it, how can I get the file. Noting that my design will use only the GPIO pins, I need how the GPIO pins are connected to the FPGA IC to make my own PCB.

Any help is highly appreciated.

The DE0-NANO is not an Intel product, it is a third party board produced by TerASIC.

You can get the info about it here: https://www.terasic.com.tw/cgi-bin/page/archive.pl?CategoryNo=165&No=593#contents

Check the RESOURCES tab and download the CD image.

It will have schematics that give you the GPIO pin connections of the user I/Os. I don't think they publish the design of the embedded USB Blaster in the schematics. And I'm pretty sure it won't have the detailed PCB layout and gerbers.

Is there a way that I can get some PCB files of the board, because it will make my design more easier.

Regards.

Hi,
as a general rule, Altera/Intel originated development kits come with design files (mostly Cadence Allegro as well as Gerber), third party kit's don't. Presently there's a Cyclone 10 LP board available that might be interesting.

You will have to contact TerASIC as it is their product.

If all you want is the GPIO connection, the user manual lists the pin connections, and it is available at the above link.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the community replies to support this case. As mentioned before, as DE0-Nano is a custom board from Terasic , you have to contact support@terasic.com to ask whether they could provide the PCB layout file as Altera does not have information on custom designs.

Thanks

Regards

Kian

Hi,

As we do not receive any response from you on the previous question/reply/answer that we have provided and PCB layout is only available from Terasic, please do contact Terasic support on your request. Please login to ‘https://supporttickets.intel.com/s/?language=en_US’, view details of the desire request, and post a feed/response within the next 15 days to allow me to continue to support you. After 15 days, this thread will be transitioned to community support. The community users will be able to help you on your follow-up questions.

Thanks

Regards
