DSP Development Kit, Cyclone III Edition Basic Questions

Hello,

I am out of my realm of expertise here, but I am looking for some advice so please bear with me! I am trying to build up a DSP system for a fiber telecom system. I have analog input of about 10-50 GHz signals and I am simply trying to perform a pulse height analysis with high resolution (14,16 bits should be enough).

I am wondering if the "DSP Development Kit, Cyclone III Edition" would be suitable for this application. In addition, a digital output signal based on the logic outcomes on the board should be possible. This board comes with a 150 MSPS 14-bit A/D converter and 250 MSPS 14-bit D/A converter.

Any help or advice is extremely helpful! Also, if I am leaving out any pertinent info please help!
