DSP builder licensing Problem

Hi,

I requested for the DSP bulider license for my DSP dev kit in Altera mySupport. I have been sent a license.dat file upon that request. I tried to use the DSP builder in Matlab using that license. But I am getting the following error message:

matlab error

"unable to obtain dspbuilder license.

error: error during compilation: error: error analyzing model see log for

details."

I tried in almost all the possible way described in DSP Builder user guide and release notes. But still I am getting the same error message stated above.

I tried to download my DSP builder license once again by following this

webpage:

https://mysupport.altera.com/lic/devkitserial.asp?product=newdevkit

I correctly provided my DSP Dev kit serial number. But I am getting the following message:

"this serial number is already registered to nic id 000c768354f2. your

license file will be based on this nic id. if you entered the correct

serial number and require a license to a different nic id please contact

altera® customer service for assistance.

registered nic id: 000c768354f2"

How can I get the correct license file which can be used for my DSP

builder software? Or is there any other solution to this problem? My NIC Id: 0014A509262E. I am also using a software guard for my Quartus II software. The software dongle id is: T000095936. I am using Quartus version 7.2 Sp1 and DSP Builder version 7.2 Build 151.

Thanks,

Asad.

Hello Asad,

you should know, for which computer your DSP Builder license had been originally registered. If not, you can read the NIC Id (HOSTID) from the license file. If this NIC Id doesn't belong to your computer (it may have more than one, see License Setup in Quartus software), the license won't work and you should contact Altera support. Evaluation licenses are generally node-locked to a single computer through NIC Id rather than to a Dongle.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for your reply. I actually posted a request in Altera mySupport. The customer support people sent me my current license file with different NIC ID. I alreay requested them to send me my license file with my won NIC ID. I just wanted to be sure about the actual problem that I am having. If you have better suggestion regarding the problem please do provide me.

Thanks,

Asad.
