Does N3000-N PAC support partial reconfiguration

I read in the data sheet (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/programmable/documentation/dlq1585950463484.html#version "The Intel® FPGA PAC N3000-N does not support partial reconfiguration. The FPGA image is a full-device bit stream that is loaded when the system is powered up or after you enter a remote system update command."

Is this referring to the factory image only. Or is it that in general this board does not support PR.

Because this board has an Arria 10 FPGA and the Arria 10 in general supports PR AFAIK.

Hi,

Support for partial reconfiguration (PR) on the N3000 is technically possible.
However,
Intel provided N3000 FPGA design and OPAE software do not support PR.
The Intel engineering team
chose not to support PR on N3000 because:

  1. Most customer use cases did not require PR
  2. Implementing PR would require additional time
  3. Implementing PR added project risk

If your application requires PR, the Intel FPGA PAC for Arria 10 GX is similar to the N3000
and does support PR.

Please let me know if this answer covers your inquiry.

Hi Anup,

I think I had answered your question about
"Does N3000-N PAC support partial reconfiguration"

Do you still have a further inquiry on this matter?
If not, I will set this case as close pending, it will be close after 3 days.
