Does Quartus Pro v20.1 provide a10_ref and s10_ref board support packages for the Arria 10 and Stratix 10 GX Reference Development Kits?

We recently installed the Quartus Pro v20.1 and found that the board support packages (a10_ref and s10_ref) for the Arria 10 and Stratix 10 GX Reference Development Kits are no longer available under INTELFPGAOCLSDKROOT/hld/board. These BSPs were provided under this installation folder in the pro v19.1 version of Quartus Pro. Based on the information in this Guide (https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/programmable/us/en/pdfs/literature/hb/opencl-sdk/aocl_programming_guide.pdf), these BSPs should also be provided with v20.1. Can someone please explain why they are not provided in v20.1? Will they become available soon?

Hi,

Based on the document the BSP for a10_ref, s10_ref should be provided.

May I know do you download the combined .tar file in the link: https://fpgasoftware.intel.com/20.1/?edition=pro?

I am trying to install OpenCL SDK software and checking internally. I will reply here after done the installation.

Thanks

Yes, I downloaded the complete .tar file for installation and it doesn't seem to include any BSP. Please do verify on your end. Thank you!

Hi,

I had installed on my side with Quartus Prime Pro v20.1 in Window 10 and I saw this problem as well.

Upon checking, the BSP no longer part in the stack. You have to download and install it manually in the download page in BSP tab:

https://fpgasoftware.intel.com/opencl/

Also, is the Intel FPGA Runtime Environment (RTE in the OpenCL SDK page) for OpenCL files included in the Quartus complete installation?

Thank you for the information! The exclusion of BSPs in the stack starts from v20.1, right?

Hi,

Runtime Environment is part of OpenCL SDK. Only the BSP folder is moved out. The exclusion of BSP in the stack start from v20.1.

Thanks

Hi,

I would like to follow up on this thread. We recently installed Quartus Prime Pro v20.4 and found the a10_ref and s10_ref BSPs for v20.4 are no longer available for download (no BSP tab anymore for v20.3 and v20.4 version of the Intel FPGA SDK for OpenCL) at https://fpgasoftware.intel.com/opencl/.

Could you please advise how we can access the reference BSPs of  a10_ref and  s10_ref for v20.4?

Thanks,
